Is it practical to get the best via Nokia’s Radar Sensor concept ?

Nokia recently revealed about their ongoing research “using radar sensor to control your mobile device”. Using your phone’s electromagnetic waves it can be done. If this concept can be truly implemented we can get numerous benefits.”just move your body and get the thing done “ If you missed to see the video attached here ,just have a look.
Nokia Unveiled today during “Demo House 2010” at Aalto University located just down the road from Nokia’s headquarters in Espoo, the “Mobile Radar” demo shows how you can measure an object’s distance, speed, and direction using a mobile device- Nokia Conversations
Lot of co-bloggers and friends are talking about this technology happily ,but I am curious to know ,about the reality of this in day to day life.
Key Word is “Stability “
Before starting I should declare that I am a Nokia freak. Controlling your phone via gestures and body movements is good idea but Even to start some applications we have to restart the Symbian devices two times then how they will handle this type of processing speed and memory hungry applications.
See the following instances :
1) When I open the Nokia Photo Browser in my N97 proudly to show my friends some times (As I have more than 500 images in my gallery)
*)It takes sooo much of time to show thumbnails (without adding any new photos)
*)Gets stuck and I restart the phone.
my friends are looking at me ,I smile and tell them to wait until I re start the phone.
2)When my boss gave some promises to stay with him in the company ,I started to record the conversation to keep as the evidence ,but my N95 refused to do the job. (automatically restarted and boss listens the Nokia’s Start up Music
)
This is a small example ,lot of you may have lot of instances where you felt shy because of your phone’s slow performance . I have a 60-70 percent of guaranteed operational rate of Symbian mobiles in my personal experience. (Talking about hi end smart phones)
I used N95 8GB ,N81,Nokia Xpress Music 5800 ,then Now moved to N97 . I love Nokia devices for the hardware specs and the innovative functionalities ,but when comes to speed ,I am never satisfied as a heavy mobile user .
I am a hi-tech user ,like to use mobile for lot of innovative trials, I tried a location based augmented reality application in Nokia N97 ,in Kuala Lumpur City -Malaysia. It is really cool. But I restarted my phone 2 times that day during the test. Augmented reality application I used functions using Internet,GPS and the Digital compass of N97. When more hardware comes to action Nokia device gets stuck.
What I would suggest to Nokia is ,please consider about a slim operating system layout ,that can function very fast ,and phones with more RAM and processing power. This combination can effort to run such new concepts without any bugs. Nokia is the best innovative company ,but be practical also …..
As shown in the video above ,when you move your hand in front of your friend to control something and nothing happened as your device got stuck ,how do you feel ?
share with us please…..
