“

You will no longer be able to view your contacts on the web after January 24, 2012. Contacts will continue to work great on your Nokia phone. Syncing or backup will continue to work normally and your data will not be affected. You can also export your synced contacts to your personal computer at any time, even after web access is discontinued.”

Nokia Belle Update is Ready for Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia E6, Nokia X7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7, and Nokia Oro.

Nokia have changed the name of the Symbian Belle to Nokia Belle and started to ship devices pre installed NB. But guys you have to watch that the Word Symbian is no more with Nokia here after.

“The enhanced versions of Nokia N8, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 have now started their journey from the factories to the shops with Nokia Belle preinstalled, arriving first in China, then around the world.” Nokia said.

If you own a Nokia 701 / Nokia 700 or Nokia 603 it means you already have played with the Nokia Belle as those are coming with Nokia Belle O/S

Insights about Nokia’s sales trend are not that much good these days !. Nokia’s latest hi-end phone Nokia Lumia is generating a good sales in some countries ,but the result in Nokia’s own country ,Finland seems almost negative. Where do you go Nokia ?

Nokia have had a market share of  about 76 percent one year back and about 90% some more years ago in Finland.But the latest sales figures in Finland have fallen to 31%   that means 45% percent of  shares have been gone !

A news item appeared on the  Zdnet web site attracted me this week. That went  on saying that Nokia has plans to release a Tablet PC  in 2012 powered by Windows 8 concerning the current trends of the market.

Nokia’s rivals Samsung,Apple and Motorola has several types of Tablet PCs in the market already. In an interview with a French Magazine an official from Nokia revealed this.

“In June 2012, we will have a tablet that runs on Windows 8″, Paul Amsellem said in a telephone interview with the paper. –Zdnet

Nokia already produced a netbook with Windows ,and was quite successful in that too. Nokia seems to have a fluctuated market for the phones due to many reasons at the moment(transform from Symbian to Windows Phone ,etc),and may want to have a more stable position by offering a vast product range .

The expertise they have in handheld devices ,may let them offer a better device for the Tablet market ,What would you say ?

Samsung is launching it’s next mobile giant “Samsung Note” a phone looks like a tablet . Samsung enjoys the recent  success of their Samsung Tab ,Samsung Galaxy SII in the world markets and moving further with this new products. The Samsung Galaxy Note is now available to buy at Carphone Warehouse ,it is a good news for the UK customers now !

Needless to say ,that Samsung Note is the hybrid version of it’s Tablet PC and Galaxy Si/II phones. Personally I love Galaxy SII and using for last 6 months ,I put back my Motorola Xoom Tablet after the using Samsung Galaxy SII. The 4.3’ screen size is really enough for web browsing and in rare occasions I felt about having a little big screen ,I guess Samsung understood us very well !

Nokia’s First Windows Phones ( The phone with Windows Mobile Operating System )are ready now for the masses .  Nokia announced two variants called Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 in their Nokia World event recently ..

The Lumia 800 is the hi end phone and the Lumia 710 is little bit lower in specs. Like Nokia N8 and C7 ,this two Windows phone shares the same processor and RAM sizes[the screen sizes of this two phones are same as 3.7’] . Performance wise both should be same . But the Lumia 710 has a 5 MP AF camera while Lumia 800 has a 8 MP one.

Lumia 800 has a AMOLED display while the Lumia 710 comes with TFT screen.

Both phones have the Windows Phone –Mango operating system ,which is said to be nothing new at the moment.

But hopefully Nokia might have tweaked the O/S to give some new look and feel to it’s fans !.

Hi guys ,this is the part two of my Samsung Galaxy S2 experience for the past few weeks. If you want to find out the best of Samsung Galaxy S2 just red my previous post titled – Samsung Galaxy S II Vs Nokia N series . You will have all the things I like about this sexy Samsung Galaxy there .but this post is about the other side of the Samsung Galaxy S2.

What I don’t like about Samsung Galaxy S2 – Samsung Galaxy SII – Cons

I put my Nokia N97 aside and hold the Samsung Galaxy all the time ,as it becomes my primary device to communicate.

After revealing the goodness of the device last week ,here are some facts to consider:

• This phone is hot ! – true ,but it generates some heat too: Samsung Galaxy S2 gets heat very fast – when you use internet ,and GPS services heavily ,the device gets extreme heat. I am unable to keep the phone on my ear due to the hot nature of the ear piece .
• Gorilla Glass ?- There are so many Youtube videos to be amazed about the Power of unbreakable and unsearchable Gorilla glass – But my Samsung Galaxy S2 simply got scratches by my office keys !
• The swiping screen lock  ,that opens the phone is waste of time ,as there is a hardware unlock key already. If anyone can tell how to get rid the Samsungs UI customization of Samsung S2 I would be grateful.
• Battery Life – Battery life is about Max 14 Hrs(on a moderate use) and Minimum 10 Hrs on a heavy use after a overnight full charge  . Even though I got warnings about low battery  levels ,the phone never got switch off unexpectedly .
• Speed – Initially it was speedy ,but later I have installed about 20 over apps setup widgets on every home screens (it has 7)phone became slow.
• I get annoyed whenever I wanted to exit from the apps and move to the another screen ,as it .took lot of time .
• Using contacts in this Android version is very complicated. If I want to dial my friend’s number I have to go through several steps ,Symbian is a great platform in terms of simple tasks . Call logs and managing contacts are very big pain here .
• No Office app or even a note pad – It is difficult to takes notes as there is no any notes applications  out of the box.
• Samsung Kies – The syncing application called Samsung Kies is not good as Nokia OVI Suite .
• No hardware key for camera – It really sucks ,If I want to use camera I have to go through the software menu ,no hot hardware key to start the cam and take shots ,Lame !

Overall ,the annoying factors are not key factors ,if you want to see the positive side of this phone just go to to my previous article

Comparison between Nokia X7 and Google Nexus S

Stevelitchfield at Allaboutsymbian.com offered a nice comparison between Nokia X7 and the Google’s Nexus S phone.The mobile tech guru covered most of the aspects of both phones and compared side by side ,gave his final judgment  too.

If you are reading Symbiandreams.com for some time ,then you would know that I used to say Nokia is a King of hardware design . The said  comparison made it clear once again.

Nokia X7 runs the latest Symbian Anna O/S while Google Nexus S runs Android 2.3.4. Nokia X7’s Processing power and the RAM sizes are  lower when comparing with Nexus S.

Google Nexus S scores somewhere as it has better web browser,Android Market(application store),Excellent UI ,

But finally the winner is Nokia X7 –for the sleek design ,good video capturing capabilities ,Good GPS connectivity and related services ,Gorilla glass ,premium built quality etc.

Nokia finally went into an agreement with Apple thus Apple paid a one time fee for the patents ,and agrees to pay the royalties continuously per product .The long time war between this two giants came to an end this way .[Nokia and Apple had a long time ongoing cases against each ,regarding the hardware patents ,but it seems ,Apple surrendered and all the cases have been withdrawn by both parties now ]

It is learnt that, Nokia is going to get a continuous royalty payments from Apple for using Nokia’s certain patents in Apple’s products .Nokia proved it again ,it is creative and the king of mobile hardware invention ,indeed !

Nokia enters into patent license agreement with Apple

Nokia announced that it has signed a patent license agreement with Apple. The agreement will result in settlement of all patent litigation between the companies, including the withdrawal by Nokia and Apple of their respective complaints to the US International Trade Commission.

The financial structure of the agreement consists of a one-time payment payable by Apple and on-going royalties to be paid by Apple to Nokia for the term of the agreement. The specific terms of the contract are confidential.

"We are very pleased to have Apple join the growing number of Nokia licensees," said Stephen Elop, president and chief executive officer of Nokia. "This settlement demonstrates Nokia’s industry leading patent portfolio and enables us to focus on further licensing opportunities in the mobile communications market."
